12/8/03 Redwood City–an opener that launched the crowd into orbit–whenever I’m having a bad day–that’s the one I put on.

While there are so many versions of Texas I love, this one comes to mind. It was a Set I closer, and unexpectedly wanders off in the middle of the song into a little jam that sounds like some muchachos sitting around the fire drinking too much tequila. Billy sings in some mal espanol, and howls a bit before the song moseys back into the regular raging Texas jam.

    ATLANTA 9.26.03 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, Billy flubs the lyrics up. But that “new Cheese” kind of jam they crank out is one for the record books!!! In all actuallity, I’ve probably grooved to this version at least 100 times.

Must Have!!! Chico, Texas. 07-17-04. 21:12 mins of this gem. It always seems when the Cheese plays in chico they play there best. This version starts off as your stndard version but at about 10:00 mins you start to realize that this is not going to be an ordinary version, this is something SPECIAL.
